From Karelia with Bucket
Annual summer fair at the Vyhod Media Centre / June 17 – August 31, 2016
The exhibition presents new visual images of Karelia made by the “Bucket” team of 5 young Karelian designers. The designers tell:
- The “Bucket” artistic project is creativity filled with joy, happiness and aspiration to say something new about our home Karelia region. The “Bucket” consists of 5 designers – Anna Danilova, Dina Chetvertnaya, Julia Eregina, Viktoria Kopeikina and Lena Nikitina. They create what they want! The “Bucket” is an attempt to develop a creative industry to produce new images rethinking Karelian nature, culture, and history. These are the images coloured with humour, fairy tales and optimism.
5 designers debuted in the Petrozavodsk Graphic Centre as the makers of the new souvenir products a year ago and developed a series of postcards with the new images of Karelia dedicated to the 95-Anniversary of the Republic of Karelia. Author postcards - unusual, with their own view on the beauties of Karelian nature and places of interest with a bear with strawberry, a pike, cloudberry and blueberry and familiar to everyone monuments to Lenin, Marx and Engels depicted on them made a success.
Thus - tradition and newness, creativity, originality and humour – all in one Bucket!
The exhibition “From Karelia with Bucket” shows the intermediate results of the work on the new visual images of Karelia by young artists and designers, which at the exhibition are presented not only on the postcards. Mugs, badges, magnets and other items, developed by the designers and produced with the help of the Tourist Information Centre of the Republic of Karelia, are waiting for you on the market fair all summer long at the Vyhod Media Centre, K. Marx avenue 14.
