Education & Discussion Program for Creative Young People of Karelia project targets at modern trends, strategies and technologies of contemporary art and culture.
The objective of the project is to assist creative young people in personal fulfillment and to develop contemporary art as an important part of today’s urban life.
In February - May 2010 the program participants will takes 2 courses – “Language and Technologies of Contemporary Art” and “Approaches and Strategies in Contemporary Art”. Classes will be held by the leading Russian experts in contemporary art as lectures, seminars and master’s classes.
Two open discussions devoted to modern processes in the field of art and culture, new media theories and the roles of today’s artists will take place in the framework of the project.
A group exhibition/presentation of art pieces created by the program participants will complete the project. It will be opened in May 2010 in the Vyhod Media Center.
The Program is targeted at young cultural workers, artists, designers, musicians, photographers and other creative people of Petrozavodsk and the Republic of Karelia.

Elena Melvil – financial director of the Creative Industries Agency, teacher of the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences (Moscow)
Georgiy Nikich – curator, art historian, board member of the Art Historians Association (Moscow)
Marina Perchikhina – media artist, curator, founder of the Spider&Mouse Gallery (Moscow)
Andrey Savin – photographer, video operator, art director of NIKA + television channel (Petrozavodsk)
Andrei Suzdalev – artist, curator, Children studios supervisor of the National Center for Contemporary Arts (Moscow)
Sergey Treshkin – media artist, designer (Petrozavodsk)
Elena Zelentsova – candidate of culturology/cultural studies, director of the Creative Industries Agency, head of the specialty “Creative Industries” at the faculty of socio-cultural projects management of the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, deputy head of the department of territorial development of the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation (Moscow)
